I saw a collection of cards by Katy McGloin a few weeks ago and fell in love with this stamp set, Happy Congratulations. You can see Katy’s post here. I liked the easy style of the lanterns and decided to make them into a four card set using only black and Mellon Mambo.
About my card(s)
1. For the sentiments I used a retired set called Wonderful Words. I liked the similarity of the script to the lanterns. Most of the lanterns I stamped with the lantern stamp from the set, but the Friendship card I opted for my sponge dauber to fill in the lantern and some Happy Watercolor background for the sentiment.
2. I added some score lines using my stampin trimmer, varying them for each card to give a little depth and interest as well as popping up the whole thing on dimensionals on my whisper white card base. This little scoring trick I learned from my friend Dee in a card we made last month. Thanks Dee.
What do you think? Next I think I’ll make a box in black, white and mellon mambo for them to go in. Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
