Hi everyone. Yesterday my post was a box I made that holds 4 cards with envelopes and a box top. If you missed it, you can see the full post here. Here is a picture of my project.
I had several of you ask about measurements and directions to make the box. I was thrilled to have so many comments and requests. All these measurements are in inches.
A – 2 pieces card stock measuring 7 x 10.
B – 1 piece card stock 10 3/4 x 6 3/4
C – 1 piece card stock 1 3/4 x 11
Scoring for the A pieces. Score the short 7 inch side of each of the A pieces at 2 inches from each side. Or said in a different way, score at 2 inch and 8 in. Turn one quarter turn and score the long 10 in side at 2 in.
Scoring for the B piece. Score the B piece at 2.25 on all four sides.
Scoring for C piece. With the piece in landscape horizontal position, score at 1/2 in, 2 1/2 in, 8 1/2, and 10 1/2 in. This will make the pocket that holds the cards and envelopes.
A couple of tips.
As with any box, I use Sticky strip or a similar product to assemble it. Regular tape runner is fine for attaching the decorative pieces but it isn’t strong enough in my opinion to hold the box together over time. My favorite product is called super power crafty tape Made by Scrapebook Adhesives. You can purchase from the big craft stores or on line from http://store.scrapbook.com/jv-1638.html?w=tape. I use this tape for all my hand crafted boxes and envelopes. Also great for attaching any paper with a sheen or texture that might otherwise make it thought or attach things to it, like glitter paper or the brushed gold or silver paper from SU.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. If you have any questions at all about the box or box top, don’t hesitate to leave a comment below or email me at StampingWithAverysOwlery@gmail.com
