Tired of World Cup…how about Hockey

One of my staff members, Steve, is a huge Hockey fan.  He plays in a Hockey league twice a week and has at least partial season tickets to the Columbus Blue Jackets hockey games. He is not just a championship chaser, as my husband likes to say, as he has been a CBJ fan since they came here 14 years ago and they only this year made it to the playoffs for the second time.

This week is Steve’s birthday, and given what I’ve just told you about him, you won’t be surprised at the card I created for him.

Hopefully you can tell those are hockey sticks and a hockey puck on there.  The geometric design in the background I cut using a free download file from my e-cutter, Silhouette, online store.  The files are sizeable so I was able to cut it exactly the size I wanted to cover the red DSP in the background.  The Blue Jackets colors are Real Red, Whisper  White and Blue with the mascot, a little bug called Stinger, who has bright green.  I was pretty proud of myself being able to pull this all together into a card for Steve.  My husband says the hockey sticks and puck make the biggest impact.  Personally I like the present and the sentiment from Big Wish cut out with one of the word bubbles.

Thanks for stopping by today,  Happy 4th everyone.
