Traveler Birthday

I loved the images from the traveler stamp set when I first saw it in the catalog.  However, sometimes loving a stamp set doesn’t always turn in to the ability to use a stamp set.  I thought that was going to be the case with this until I made this birthday card for Gino, one of my staff members.

Traveler card 1

I started with the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge,  The three design elements looked like a great way to show off the images from the set.

07-24

I used only Soft Suede, Lost Lagoon and whisper white cardstock here, even though none of them look like they are whisper white.  Each image is stamped with soft suede then I sponged soft sky across the top and very lightly sponged soft suede across the bottom, with the exception of the ship where I used Lost Lagoon. I used the cherry cobbler blendabilities to color parts of the ship and the suitcase as well as two of the skin tone blendabilities.  The globe is done with sky blue sponging.

I repeated the technique on the inside images as well.  I’m also pleased that I used all the images in the stamp set with the exception of the train.

If you are wondering how I’m making this into a birthday card, my hand written note inside says ‘Happy Birthday, Hope you have many many more stops ahead.’  and of course I wrote that in Soft Suede.
