I saw a card layout like the one here sometime a few weeks ago and thought it would be a great layout for many color and paper combinations. Since I happened to have a co-workers birthday this week, another one of my men, I thought it would be a great card for him, in some fun colors. He’s a fun kinda guy.
The card base is 5×5 with a whisper white layer at 4-7/8 x 4-7/8. The small square whisper white layers are 1-34 x 1-3/4 with the DSP on top at 1-1/2 square. The DSP underneath is from Maritime, as are all the other patterned paper pieces. I love the color combinations in this paper, Night of Navy, Real Red and Coastal Cabana. I had some retired Real Red Ribbon on my ribbon door which went perfectly with the theme as did the little antique brad I pulled out. If you look closely you can almost imagine it having a N-S-E-W compass like design in the center.
For the inside, I used my Silhouette Cameo e-cutter again to draw the saying Birthda Cake Calories don’t count. I thought Sean would appreciate that saying as he is on a health kick right now, counting all his calories using an app on his phone. It’s working, he’s lost over 20 lbs and looks great.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed hearing my thought process for creating this card today. If you have any questions about any of my projects leave a comment below or you can always email me at StampingWithAverysOwlery@gmail.com.
