Recently at a family gathering, my Aunt Ruth, age 86 and hostess of the event, took a tumble. We didn’t know it at the time but found out after a trip to the ER that she had broken her hip and her elbow and had surgery the next day on both. I was very thankful for two of my cousins, one a nurse and the other an EMT. She was in excellent hands from the moment she fell and was a real trouper throughout the ordeal. Aunt Ruth is staying on a rehabilitation floor for a while not able to enjoy her flowers she takes such pride in. I thought I would make her a ‘bunch’ to enjoy until she is able to go home. Nice thing about these is they won’t ever wilt!.
I used the Flower Patch photo-polymer stamp set to create the flowers, taking inspiration from page 154 of the annual catalog. I also used the new Flower Fair Bigz Die to cut out the leaf stems.
I took inspiration from a recent post by Brian King www.StampwithBrian.com where he used crystal effects on a punched circle to make it resemble a button. I didn’t do that, but pulled out my long neglected bottle of Crystal Effects and added it to the centers of each of the flowers for some dimension.
I like the texture it adds. Just remember to let it dry, over night is best, when using a big blob like I did.
Don’t forget the inside. I added a phrase from the perfect Pennants with some stamped off flowers in the corners.
