After hosting an ‘All Occasion Card Stamp a Stack in July my monthly class attendees were ready for something different in Aug. I declared it Box Month and all of our projects this month would be boxes or something similar to a box, like a bag. Now I can’t create a box. Well, I can, an easy one, but those are pretty boring and I get very frustrated. So, I turned to the professionals, my favorite being Sam Donald from the UK. Sam’s website – www.Pootles.Co.UK is chocked full of boxes and bags she herself has designed. She also always prepares a video tutorial to show you how it’s made. That was all I needed to get started. So, welcome to Box Month, I hope you like the next three editions of my blog.
Box Number 1 – Yankee Votive Candle Holder.
This box is so creative and cute. A great gift option for the holidays or a baby or wedding shower. You can see Sam’s original post Here. And here is my version.
Isn’t it just the cutest thing, and honestly, much easier to assemble than you would think, all with only one sheet of card stock and some DSP. I went right to the nearest store selling Yankee Candle votives and picked out several different colors. I gave my ladies a sneak peek of this box they were going to make and the went nuts over it. Such a great way to make a little gift. You could also consider stamping on the sides rather than using DSP. Hmm maybe out of our new craft paper……
