Lovely as a Tree Bridge Tallies

Today’s project was a labor of love.  A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was working on some Bridge Tallies as a request/gift for my mom.  She is in a long standing Bridge Club, they play once a month and the location rotates.  She asked me to create some nice Bridge Tallies for the ladies to use to track who they were to partner with and their running score.  She shared with me some she had been using which were a use once then toss version.  She wanted something she could keep and would be reusable for many games, plus be a timeless design.  I had sent her and my dad a card last year, that she keeps on a side table in their kitchen cause she liked it so much, and asked if I could use the same image.  Check out that card here.  The image was the oak tree from lovely as a tree.  Here’s what I came up with.

Bridge is played in tables of 4.  For a club there are either 8 or 12 players.  I chose to make three sets of tallies, one design for each initial table.  Inside you can see the cards are numbered and highlight what table they sit at for each round and who they are paired with.  The tally opens to reveal the progression and includes a lined post it note for keeping score.  This is the two table progressive.  If there are 12 players, the tally opens yet again and reveals the three table progressive.   Stampin Up Lovely as a Tree Bridge Tally AverysOwlery.comStampin Up Lovely as a Tree Bridge Tally AverysOwlery.com

1-4 design.  I used Pool Party as the background, embossed with Decorative Dots.  The sky is sponged with Soft Sky and  Pool Party, then I used my aqua painter with Soft Sky, Pool Party and Lost Lagoon ink to shade the tree.  I also painted on Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz for a snow effect under the tree as well as some highlights on the tree itself. This doesn’t really show up in the picture.   I shook it up, then poured a little bit out onto my silicone mat and used a paint brush.  The tree is water colored with Crumb Cake and an aqua painter.Stampin Up Lovely as a Tree Bridge Tally AverysOwlery.com

5-8 design.  I wanted a spring like look for this set so I used Pear Pizzazz embossed with a retired embossing folder called Elegant Bouquet. The background is sponged with Blushing Bride and Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzazz for the grass. The tree has watercoler touches of Hello Honey, Pear Pizzaz and Mossy Meadow.  I used Brian’s squinting technique (your nickle is in the mail) and decided I needed to break up the green across the bottom so used Blushing Bride candy dots.

9-12 design. I used Cherry Cobbler as the layer and instead of embossing, I stamped the oak leaf from For All Things using Cherry Cobbler ink.  Since there is no corresponding two table progression needed, I used the same stamp on the inside.  The background is done in Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral with the grass in Old Olive.  The tree is water colored with touches of Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler.  I colored the trunk of the tree with the Crumb Cake marker.
