Wonderous Wreath for the Pals December Blog Hop

2014dechop_badge

Welcome to the last Pals Blog Hop of 2014. This month we want to help you start your holiday wish list by sharing projects featuring our favorite Stampin’ Up! papers, stamps, tools and accessories. Get your wish list ready as you move along through the blog hop.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Amy Hoptay at Inking of You!  on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the project.

My card today is probably similar to many you have already seen this season.  I did do one thing I had not tried before and that was to heat emboss – over the top of heat embossing! One of the best things about this set – it is one of the carry over items into 2015 and will be available for purchase with the framelits as a bundle from the upcoming Occassions Catalog coming out in January 2015.  This set is so versital.  It can be used certainly for the holiday’s but also for winter, spring, or fall.  The possibilities are endless.  I’m sure you’ll continue to see more and more projects as we go into the winter months.

Stampin Up Wonderous Wreath AverysOwlery.comHere is the full card recipie and instructions.  A full product list is at the bottom of this post, after the hop list.

  • Card base is Very Vanilla standard 8.5 x 5.5 scored at 4.25
  • Very Vanilla 3.75×5
  • Scrap piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock large enough for the bow
  • Gold Foil 4×5.25
  • Cut JOY and flower framelits out of the center portion of the gold foil.  This makes great use of the foil without showing the cut portion on your card.
  • Stamp the bow using versamark on Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Powder with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder and heat to set.
  • Cut out bow with framelit
  • Cut piece of Brushed Gold card stock large enough for the wreath.  Use the inside portion of the wreath framelit to cut out the center.  This makes it much easier to line up the stamped images and then cut die cut the outer portion when finished.  Also remember to place the tabs on the die cuts and stamps in the same direction.
  • Stamp the largest stamp using gold ink and powder with gold embossing powder.  Heat to set
  • Stamp with the next largest stamp using silver ink, powder with silver embossing powder and heat to set.
  • Stamp with the berry stamp set with versamark, powder with cherry cobbler embossing powder and heat to set.  You could use versamark for all of the stamping as well.
  • Use the outer wreath framelit to cut out the wreath
  • Attach Gold foil to card base with tape or glue.  Attach Very Vanilla with dimensional
  • Attach wreath with dimensional, attach piece of Gold Sequin trim to top of wreath
  • Cut 8 in piece of Gold Bakers Twine and separate the gold foil from string. Attach to wreath using glue dots
  • Attach bow over top of sequin trim on wreath, add pearl
  • Attach word Joy with liquid glue
  • Attach flower with dimensional, add pearl
  • Place a few random gold sequins on the card face.
