Sheltering Tree for a Friend

I made this card this week to send to a friend who was just diagnosed with cancer.  It is early days and we are all still hopeful that treatment options are available and effective and I wanted him to know that my husband and I had him and his wife and family in our thoughts.

I have been in a winter mood and that is showing with the color choices I made on the two cards, this one and the one I’ll be posting later in the week.  Sky Blue, Pool Party, and Lost Lagoon.  Today’s card features Lost Lagoon and Sky Blue.  I thought Sheltering Tree would be a nice image but it really needed to be dressed up a bit.  I used Dazzling Details all over the tree and underlining the sentiment.

For the background, I pulled out another piece of the Irresistibly Yours DSP.  You can see other posts where I’ve used this paper Here, Here and Here.  To color it today I pulled out my trusty Aqua Pen and water colored the stripes  alternately in Sky Blue and Lost Lagoon ink then wiped it down with a baby wipe.
