I sent this card to a dear friend who recently lost her mother. Sympathy cards seem to be in need a lot lately but I’m funny about not making them up ahead of time. I like to create for the person or persons I’m sending to and this card was no exception. As I mentioned on Wednesday, I’ve been in a blue color mood so no wonder I saw myself reaching for Pool Party and Early Espresso, I love that combination of colors any time of year but especially in the winter.
I also pulled out tried and true stamp sets from the annual catalog. Love and Sympathy, Thoughts and Prayers and Stippled Blossoms. The second step image of the blossom in Stippled Blossom makes a great background stamp. I used Pool Party stamped off once on a piece of Whisper White.
I also remembered a friend commenting not too long ago that she never things to stamp on anything but white card stock. Thinking of that comment and this card, I opted to stamp my images and sentiment on Pool Party card stock. The flower I colored the stamp using my Early Espresso and Pool Party markers. I used Versamark and white embossing powder for the sentiment from Love and Sympathy.
Don’t forget the inside…..I repeated the stamped image on the inside and added the sentiment from Thoughts and Prayers. Both of these sets are my go to stamp images for sympathy cards.
