Things I love for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop

InKing Royalty February Blog Hop (1)Welcome to the February InKing Royalty Blog Hop. We’re excited to share projects that share inspiration for Valentine’s Day and our love of Stampin’ Up! products. This hop is all about love.

You may have started the Blog Hop here or may have hopped over from Pam Morris at Tap Tap Stamp.  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next. If you get off track at any point during the blog hop, there’s a complete list of participants at the end of this post.

My project today is not really a Valentine’s project but is certainly all about what I love about Stampin’ Up! and that is the free products you can earn from Sale-a-bration going on right now.  Almost all of the products I used in my birthday card today I earned for free by buying other products totaling $50.  Free is awesome.  It’s like the best discount ever.  I made this into a birthday card for my brother-in-law.  His birthday was yesterday and I’m sure he usually gets wintery kinds of cards so I was looking for something different for him.  Here is my card.

  • Love Life stamp set.  This set includes this adorable bird image, a Lemon and the sentiment.  I have to admit, I wasn’t too keen on the image at first until I saw how other Stampin Up enthusiasts had colored it.  You could certainly reach for the Blendabilities – colors from the Annual Catalog are also available as a free item – but I opted for Watercolor.  Still my favorite way to put my mark on an image.  I used Soft Sky, Island Indigo, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz, Tangerine Twist and Soft Suede reinkers with my aqua pen.
  • Designer Series Paper.  The background paper is from the Best Year Ever.  Great spring time, happy colors are included in this set.  I choose the yellow to coordinate with my other free items…..
  • Best Year Ever Accessory Pack.  This pack includes three spools of ribbon, and three sets of buttons.  I’ve included one of each color and one of each size on my card.  The ribbon is Crushed Curry.

There you have it.  With the exception of the watercolor paper, whisper white and crumb cake card base, this card was made with, or could have been if I had used Blendabilities, with all free products.  Gotta Love Life and love Stampin Up Sale-a-Bration.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Becky Volpp at Ink Blossom with Becky. You certainly won’t want to miss any of these projects.
