Things I love about kits

So if you haven’t notices, kits are all the rage right now.  Kits for kids, kits for crafting, kits for cars.  Stampin Up has some great kits available as well.  What I like about kits, is what I can do with them that might not have been intended. For example, I have the Hooray It’s Your Day kit.  This kit per the name is designed for birthday cards.  Well this week, I didn’t need a birthday card, but I did need a ‘welcome to the team’ card.   What did I reach for? My kit. Here are the pieces included with the kit.

and here are the cards I created.

I attached that to the front of one of the card bases that I had cut down.  I liked the white embossed background but that particular card base is designed to be used as a gift card holder.  I just cut off the front portion and cut it down to the size I wanted for my card.

I used the sunburst stencil to color the paper.  I first used the stencil with daffodil delight ink and a sponge dauber.  I then turned it just a bit to cover what I had just sponged and sponged again in the now blank space with Bermuda Bay.

For the Inside I used some of the washi tape included with the kit and the You cut from the Hello You thinlits dies.  The stamped sentiment came from Crazy about You.

This card was for Sam, a new member of our department and he loved it.  He really felt welcomed to the team. I’m sure it was all about the card and had nothing to do with all the other ways we made him feel good.  You agree right!!
