Happy Birthday Cam

My oldest nephew just turned 16, Cameron, Cam for short.  Masculine cards can be hard but teenage masculine cards are the hardest.  Cam is a great kid, plays baseball and does well in school.  That didn’t make it any easier to create a card for him. I decided he deserved some cool stuff, like Chalkboard paper, and a cool looking card. My inspiration came from a card made by my friend and downline, Christine.  She had a treat bag with balloons attached on a single piece of card stock tucked inside the treat bag.  I used her basic design with a few twists.Stampin Up Mini Treat Bag Thinlit Balloon Bash Chalk Paper and Ink AverysOwlery.com Here is the treat bag with the card I created to tuck inside.  The black is Chalkboard paper.  This paper has a slick waxy texture to give that chalk board appearence especially when using the Chalk Box inks available. I choose the aquamarine color, very close to Coastal Cabana or Bermuda Bay.  I stamped the banner from Birthday Bash and cut it out and attached with dimensionals.Stampin Up Mini Treat Bag Thinlit Balloon Bash Chalk Paper and Ink AverysOwlery.com

The outside is very cool and understated.  I didn’t want to be too too over the top for Cam.  Of course, the fact that I tucked in a Gas Gift Card inside, as he will be getting his drivers license here soon, I’m sure helps a lot.
