Another Thank You with Butterflies

I found this card on Sam Donald’s Pootles.co.uk blog and fell in love.  Sam made this card using Rich Razzelberry.  The only change I made was to create it with Night of Navy instead and added some Pearls.  It also gave me a chance to use my newest stamping tool MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented.  You can find information about this tool here.  Basically it reinvents how you use rubber and photopolymer stamps and for this large Thank You stamp it worked great.  I’ve included a video on MISTI below.  See for yourself how cool this is.  This is not a sanctioned Stampin Up product and I receive no benefit from tell you about it, except telling you about it.

I used MISTI to stamp the large thank you stamp from Another Thank You.  I’ve had trouble with this stamp before because of it’s size, not getting a good stamp image especially in the middle of the stamp.  It is also quite large and doesn’t fit just anywhere on a standard card front.  With MISTI I was able to practice on the grid sheets where I drew an outline of my card front.  Once I had the stamp where I wanted it I closed the lid to attach the stamp to the cover plate.  I added in the foam – used when stamping with photopolymer stamps only – and inked up the stamp.  Flip it closed and push.  Since it is a photopolymer stamp set I could clearly see where in needed to add pressure to get full coverage of the stamp.  Awesome Sauce!

I stamped the two butterfly images from Papillion Potpourri  using Stazon black.  I used my blender pen to pick up ink from my Night of Navy ink pad and outline the wings.  I cleaned the blender pen by wiping it on my grid paper to remove some of the ink then used it to pull the ink in from the edges to the inside of the wings, leaving some white space inside.  I think this method provides a better blend than if I had first used my Night of Navy marker.  Pearls finish off the look. Stampin Up Another Thank You Papillion Potpourri AverysOwlery.com

Don’t forget the inside.  I stamped the same butterflies on the inside as well as on my envelop – not shown.
