Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for April where every day is Earth Day. This month we are showcasing projects that use recycled, reused or other earth inspired elements and colors. We hope you enjoy the Pals creative projects.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Michelle Gleeson at StampinMojo , number 1 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.
I will admit that I struggled with this theme. Not because I don’t recycle and reuse stuff all the time, but that I HAD to for this project. The pressure nearly had me beat. And what happens when you are under pressure, you procrastinate. So Monday evening I start working on the only recycled, reused project I had come up with…… but I really didn’t like it all that much. There is a picture at the bottom of the post. You all can vote which project you like better : ).
Tuesday evening when I came home from work there was a package in the mail from Uncle Mike. You can see Uncle Mike’s birthday card from February here. Uncle Mike had sent me an Easter gift, a little glass blown protection angel. Very cute and so thoughtful of him. And the best thing, well the best thing in terms of my blog hop dilemma, was the packaging it came in. A clear acetate box with a cute Heart shaped closure on the top.
This is after…..
I used Painted Blooms DSP, the sheets featured on page 18 of the Occasions Catalog with all the flowers. I cut both pieces in the pack of that design in order to cover the four sides of the box and have it look contiguous. Some of the left over paper I used to make a tag with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch. I love all three of the tag topper punch designs. The stamp images are from Because you Care, a hostess stamp set from the Occasions Catalog.
Now, because I promised, here is my initial project. Can you tell what I used to create it?
If you guessed a Paper Pumpkin box you are correct. I covered it with some of the other designs from Painted Blooms. I had a problem in that the orange edges of the box showed and didn’t really coordinate with paper I had used to cover it. I used my Night of Navy Dark Blendability marker to color all the orange. The combination of the orange underneath with the Navy on top made it look kind of Blackberry Bliss-ish so I used that as the color for the flowers on the top. I’m not happy with those flowers either. Thank goodness for Uncle Mike!!
The next stop is Amy Hoptay at Inking of You, number 3 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting; I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Hop!
