A Watercolor Thank You for Mary Fish

It is no secret that I love to watercolor.  I think the cards I make with watercolor show the extra attention I’m giving to the recipient of that piece of art.  This card was no exception as I was hand delivering it to Mary Fish from StampinPretty.com.  I am a member of Mary Fish’s down line and she is a special person to me and to all of us in her Pretty Pals Stampin Up Group.  Mary hosted a Sip and Swap last week at convention just for the Pals and I wanted a special card for her to say thank you.  Mary had a very successful Stampin Up year and because of her success she makes all of us in her down line successful to.

Thank You Mary for all you do for us!Stampin Up Sweetbriar Rose www.AverysOwlery.com

  • I used the Sweetbriar Rose stamp with Stazon ink which is great for water coloring as it doesn’t bleed with the water.  With watercolor and watercolor paper spritz the paper first with water then start with the lightest colors and add shading.  For this card I started with Soft Sky and added Pool Party and Lost Lagoon on the flowers using my aqua painter.  I also outlined the flower petals with the pointy end of the marker for more definition.

  • I used Mint Macaron (my favorite new In Color) and added some Old Olive and even a little Hello Honey on the leaves.  Early Epresso was used on the branches.  I let the leaves bleed into the background for some shading. I also used the white gel pen to highlight some areas on the flowers.
