Embellished Ornaments for Holiday Bundle Hop

Bundled up for the Holidays Blog Hop Banner (1)

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s August Blog Hop.  Stampin’ Up!’s 2015 Holiday Catalog is just around the corner (it’s live on September 1) – and this amazing book is filled to the brim with incredible bundles at discounted prices.  Who doesn’t love to save with bundles?!?  Today we are Bundled Up for the Holidays as we celebrate these amazing stamp set bundles from the Holiday Catalog.   After you read my post, I  hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

There are so so many holiday bundles to choose from in the new Holiday catalog that it was hard to pick a favorite, but pick I did.  I made the following card using the Embellished Ornaments stamp set and the coordinating Delicate Ornaments Thinlit dies.

I cropped three more ornaments out of very vanilla and mounted the three outside ornaments onto them.  This makes each ornament three layers thick. (base vanilla, solid colored card stock, delicate cropped gold or dazzling diamonds glimmer paper.  My reason for doing this was so that when the card was opened the inside didn’t look all messy with multiple colors of card stock showing through from the front.

Now, what to do about the inside and the sentiment.  I wanted the inside to be the same shape as the outside.  I attached the three ornaments together (not yet attached to the card front) and then laid them onto a piece of very vanilla on a piercing mat.  I used a stylus to trace around the shape of the ornaments then snipped it out.  Now the shape is exactly the same as the front.  I cropped one more of the center ornament, this time out of post-it note paper to use as a mask.  I stamped the center ornament using Bermuda Bay stamped off 3 times, covered that image with the postit mask and stamped the side ornaments with Island Indigo stamped off 3 times.  The sentiment is stamped with Island Indigo in full strength.  Stampin UP Embellished Ornament Bundle AverysOwlery.com
