header_PP_demo_6.2015_(1)My last post I showed you all the alternative ideas I had for the gold cards included in the August Paper Pumpkin kit.  Paper Pumpkin is having a big sale, with 50% off your first two months if you are a first time subscriber and sign up before September 10, 2015.

With just a few other supplies from my craft stash I was able to make 8 cards and all but two of them are different. In my previous post I shared how I modified the gold stripe cards .  You can see that posts here.

Today I’ll share what I did with the flowers on the boxes. When I started putting  together the flowers as instructed, I wasn’t thrilled with the way the flowers were turning out for my boxes.  I just couldn’t get them to look like they did in the picture.  I figured adding some additional petals would make them not look so square. Stampin Up Paper Pumpkin AverysOwlery.com

I used the spiral flower die with Pink Pirouette to create a fuller center then added two of the petals contained in the kit curled out to the bottom.

By curling the petals or the centers inside or out you can vary the overall look of the flower.

It just goes to show that any kit can be modified to fit your tastes.  There is no rule in any paper crafting rule book (well there isn’t a rule book either) that says you have to use the kit like instructed.  Go crazy.
