Every so often my Paper Pumpkin is delivered and instead of making it up just like the instruction recommend, I get my craft on and go crazy. That’s what happened with the August Paper Pumpkin kit. Paper Pumpkin is having a big sale, with 50% off your first two months if you are a first time subscriber and sign up before September 10, 2015. That’s the same as buy one get one free. We all love getting things on sale or free, right!!

The kit contained supplies to make 6 3.5×5 inch cards with envelopes. I opted to cut the card bases down and use them as card fronts instead. With just a few other supplies from my craft stash I was able to make 8 cards and all but two of them are different. In my last two posts I shared how I modified the gold stripe cards and the pink flowers on the boxes. You can see those posts here, and here.
Here are the Pink and Gold card alternatives I created.
This one is my favorite of the pink ones. I cut the card base in half to use as a card front. It isn’t too much different from the kit design but I changed up the use of the black ribbon behind the sentiment and mounting it on a Pink Pirouette card base and Whisper White layer. My favorite part though are the leaves and sequins both of which were left over pieces from other kits. The sequins are from Cottage Garden kit, available in the annual catalog. the leaves were left over from the Watercolor Wishes kit also from the annual catalog.
I used a piece from the gold striped card here and added a simple piece of 1/8 gold trim ribbon.
This final card is actually designed the away the instruction called for. I created two of these as it seems unfortunately, I’m always in need of Sympathy cards and I like to have them on hand.
