Dove of Peace

Adult coloring is all the rage these days.  There are coloring books designed specifically for adults, with beautifully intricate designs. Use color pencils, crayons, or markers and you have a great way to reduce stress.

Stampin up has designed stamp images that lend themselves to coloring too.  Dove of Peace is one of those designs.  This single stamp comes in wood block only and include the beautiful dove as well as a sentiment below.  When I received my stamp I opted to separate the sentiment from the dove to make it a little more versatile and to have an inside sentiment.  Here’s my card.

I cut the rubber stamp between the words and the dove before mounting it on the wood block.  I didn’t mount the sentiment but rather added the vinyl that would go on the block to the rubber stamp.  This gave the sticky something to stick to and something for the stamp to cling to when using a clear block.  Now I have two stamps when originally there was only one.  10-15-2015 10-20-15 PM

I stamped the dove with basic black archival and colored it in using markers.  Once the entire image was colored I snipped it out then stamped a versamark stamp pad directly onto the paper coating it entirely.  I then powdered with clear embossing powder and heat dry to set.

I mentioned I used the sentiment for the inside.  What you can’t see in the picture below is there is actually a stamped dove using versamark in the background behind the sentiment.  It is subtle but adds a lot of class to the overall card.
