You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Becky Volpp at Inkblossomwithbecky , number 19 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.
For my regular blog readers you might remember that I have several little people under the age of 7 in my family. Two grandgirls, one brand new grandson, three nephews and one niece. They all love getting their own mail in the mail box so I like to send out cards for occasions other than just birthdays. Halloween is certainly a great excuse to make a card for some great kids. The thing about cards for kids, though is I think they need to be ‘Fun’, not just a regular card. Here is the card I’ve made to send out to them all this year.
Tips and Tricks: I used some great tips I learned at the World Card Making Day in Atlanta the first of the month. I learned the best way to make a shaker card and how to use the Black Spider Web Doilies.
- To make the shaker card, use the heavier card included in the packaging of Designer Series Paper and cut four pieces slightly larger than the size of you shaker opening. Use your favorite die and cut all four pieces. You don’t have to worry about being precise. Use fast fuse or other heavy duty adhesive to adhere them all four together.
- Cut two pieces of Window Sheet the same size as above. Adhere one to the bottom of the stack. Fill with your favorite shaker card insides. For today’s card I used black and silver glitter. Adhere the final window sheet to the top with all the goodies inside. Use your new shaker on your card or project. The window sheets on the top and bottom help keep everything contained.
- Ta Da!! Your Welcome.

Square cards are my favorite! Love the shaker aspect…fun!!! 🙂
What a fun card – glitter and all! Love the layout of this project.
Great tip for making shaker cards.. Lovely card.
Thanks for sharing.
Very cool card!! Glitter will be so much fun for the little ones.
I know I have a headache today, but I was a little confused as to how you made your shaker card. I have made shaker cards before using the outside strips of the stampin dimensionals but I was a little confused with your directions. I’m sure if I’d seen it demonstrated it would be clear. Thanks for your help.
Love, LOVE this shaker card!
