This week I have been very busy getting ready for the one and only Craft Fair I particiapte in being held November 7th. It is a long standing (I think this is the 31st year) Antique and Craft fair at Central High School in Pickerington Ohio where I live. There are loads of vendors and loads of visitors. Each of us had to submit pictures of our products before being allowed to participate so the quality is very good.
My main purpose in attending this fair is not so much to sell items. I’ve learned in the past that cards don’t sell well here, however, the opportunity for someone to make cards, now that sells. I focus on getting names and email addresses from the show visitors that might be interested in attending a monthly technique class, or a stamp a stack. I have sample cards for my Holiday Stamp-a-Stack and upcoming classes to entice visitors.
Another big part of my business is creation of Wedding Invitations. I offer unique hand crafted invitations and response cards and have a display at the craft show. I’ve landed several wedding orders from previous shows.
I’ve lots of gift ideas too, many of which you can see on previous blog posts. I made up Notebook covers, coloring card gift sets, advent tress, and have sorted all of my retired stamp sets, framelits, dies, punches and embossing folders for sale.
I’m almost all packed up and ready to go this evening to set up. Thank goodness my husband will be around this weekend to help me load and unload along with the voluntee students at the school.
Tomorrow I’ll share a picture of my set up and hopefully how successful it was.
Good luck. Wish I lived closer to come visit the craft show and your booth. Have a great day.
Thanks Cindy!!
