I have a really simple cute card today. The banner indicates it is a birthday card but you could certainly change that up to be Hello Friend, Thank You, Thinking of You, Etc.
I wanted to highlight the adorable chick from Honeycomb Happiness a free Sale a Bration stamp set with a $50 order. I stamped in basic black and then colored it in using my blender pen and a Daffodil Delight ink pad. Pick up some ink from the lid or directly from the pad and blend in the strokes. I purposely left the color lighter in the center of the chick. His feet and beak were colored with Watermelon Wonder marker. There is just hint of Mint Macaron shadow around his feet using the blender pen. Be sure to clean your blender pen on scratch paper after using it this way to avoid transfering color to your next project. I used my white kraft ink and a sponge dauber to highlight the large polka dots on the background. I liked how they played off of the roundness of the chick.
Tip, did you know you can ‘refill’ your blender pens? They are actually filled with Glycerin, a product you can find in your drug or craft store. I found bottled glycerin in the facial isle in my retail drug mart. I poured glycerin into a small cup and placed my blender pen tip down in the glycerin and left it overnight, allowing it to wick up into the pen. The next night I turned it over and repeated it on the other end. Glycerin has lots of uses in crafting and skin care. Do a google search and see all the ways you can use this product. You will be amazed.

This card is so adorable! I think this would make a great Easter card too 🙂
Here’s what’s BRILLIANT about this card, Lynn: everything. I love the white daubered spots. I love the way you’ve colored the chick. I adore the Mint Macaron shadowing. Such a sweet card!
