Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! Stampin’ Up!’s Occasions Catalog is filled with amazing products to help you celebrate birthdays in style – from festive balloons to birthday buds, there’s something for everyone. Today’s It’s Your Birthday Blog Hop is filled with inspiring projects that share great birthday ideas – we are excited to share what we’ve made and hope you’ll find great inspiration from our talented team members in this hop. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
My birthday card today is for my good good friend Lisa. She also happens to be a co-worker of mine. It’s great when you work with people you also enjoy, and that is certainly the case with Lisa. I just love her and wanted to make a special card for her with lots of love in it.
My layout was inspired by a past MoJo Monday sketch. Any of the sketch challenges or color challenges are wonderful sources for inspiration, even if you don’t complete the challenge in the timeframe. I used Birthday Blooms stamped in Basic Black archival ink and then colored the image with markers, Garden Green, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Hello Honey and Soft Sky. I used my white gel pen to add highlights.
After I colored the image I cut it with the Lots of Labels framelits. I cut a second of the same size out of Daffodil Delight and cut it in half for matting. I used the same framelit set for the hanging tag. The background paper is from Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper. I initially thought of just having the two sections the same, but opted to add a piece of the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack as an overlay for one side to soften it.
Don’t forget the inside. I used the other floral image for the inside. I stamped it twice, then colored in one. Both the sentiments (inside and out) are also Birthday Blooms.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Becky Volpp at Ink Blossom with Becky. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!
Lynn

Lynn Kolcun, the Queen of Amazing Birthday Cards. You are always making cards for other people on their birthdays – I’m happy because we get to see them. I LOVE the yellows in this flower. So soft and pretty. A wonderful project! I’m so happy you hopped along with us today!
Lynn, I love the “ghost” of the floral image on the inside of your card. Beautiful!
I love your color choices. It’s nice to see it in another color besides the DSP colors.
Becky- your coloring sure does make that stamp shine!!! Wow you really did a fabulous job! Love all your details…
