Fun with Flowers for InKing Royal Blog Hop

1-3-14-2016 8-44-27 PMWelcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop!  Stampin’ Up!’s Occasions Catalog and Annual Catalog are filled with amazing products that help you celebrate Spring with style.  With floral stamp sets, dies and printed papers, you can’t go wrong as you have fun with flowers.  Today’s Fun with Flowers Blog Hop is filled with inspiring projects that share some great ideas – we are excited to share what we’ve made and hope you’ll find great inspiration from our talented team members in this hop.  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I think Thank You cards are the staple of every paper-crafter, card-makers cubbard.  You can never have enough and you can’t give the same one twice to the same person.  Therefore, we are always looking for that perfect way to say thank you to our friends, family or the person who provided outstanding service.

There are hundreds of places to get inspriation for your projects.  Certainly from blogs like mine, you-tube, paintings, home decor, magazines, you name it.  I also like to use the Stampin Up Catalog.  Every stamp set it featured some how, some way, in the catalog to provide you with a visual of how that item can be used.  I was going through my stamp sets and came across Garden in Bloom and realized I had ordered this set in June 2015 AND NEVER USED IT.  This make no sense.  It is flowers and I love flowers.  It is a multi step stamp, which I also love.  The is even a Designer Series Paper set that goes with it, that I have in my cubbard.  Why had I not used this fabulous stamp set before March 2016? It was shameful and certainly time to fix this isuse.

I loved the top left sample from the annual catalog on page 119 but I really did need a Thank You card instead of a Friend card so I changed it up a tiny bit. I made several of these cards to give out to my customers who placed an order with me this month.

I don’t think a stamper can have enought stamps that say some version of Thank-You.  One of my favorite Thank You stamp sets is One Big Meaning.  Everything from single thank yous to groups, you can find it in that stamp set.  I opted for bees instead of butterflys and because of that, I thought the black and white baker’s twine would bring out the stripes on the bee.  I used the edge of my paper snips  on the tail ends of the twine and curled it like a ribbon.  To adhere the vellum to the card I strategically placed glue dots under the bees to hide them.  3-13-2016 1-39-43 PM

Don’t forget the inside.  I recreated a portion of the DSP on the inside using two and three step stamping.  I only used Basic BlackHello Honey and Old Olive but achieved different shading by stamping off two or three times on the various layers . I really love this stamp set.  Must use more!!
