Peekaboo Peach Polka Dots

You don’t always have to use Designer Series paper.  Sometimes it is just a matter of creating your own background and today’s card is an easy one but with a bit of wow too.

THE PARTICULARS

  • I really like the Peekaboo Peach with Gold, this time it’s gold embossing.  It’s part of a class I offered this past weekend on embossing techniques.  Embossing on vellum adds a very cool effect.  I stamped the sentiment from Thankful Thoughts on Vellum using Versamark, powdered with gold, then very carefully used my heat gun.  Keep the heat gun moving, and keep it a bit further away than you might normally with card stock to prevent the vellum from melting.  It will take a bit longer but you’ll be happier with the results.
  • For the background I used the circle from Work Of Art stamp set and created my own polka dot pattern.  I started with the three dots on the top and went from there, eye balling it the whole way down.  I only stamped full dots first, then went back and added some partial ones on the sides.
  • Attach ribbon all the way around the piece of vellum. I used tape runner to do this, then added more tape runner on the ribbon to attach to the card base.  Washi tape from the Pick a Pattern to attach at the top.  Final touches with some Gold Faceted Gems.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. So sweet! I assumed you used a stencil until I saw you used Work of Art. Love it – especially when paired with the vellum.
