Quilted Christmas Oragami

This year for Christmas I decided to do our entire Christmas tree in paper crafted ornaments.  It was time to purge out some of the old broken ones but certainly saving the very special hand crafted ornaments from my children and grandchildren.

ORIGAMI TRIANGLE ORNAMENT

I created 12 of these origami ornaments based on the video by Julie DiMatteo at PaperPixie.com.  Julie is a master at 3D and origami.  Her instructions called for smaller pieces of paper but I decided to use the pre-cut 6×6 Quilted Christmas DSP to make mine. Check out her video below.

They make a nice size ornament to hang on the tree.  My first creations of these beauties I chose the pieces of DSP all the same pattern and added a Stitched Felt Embellishment and twine for hanging.

You can all use these for table decor.  For these I chose 3 random patterns for a mix and match look.

BE MERRY KIT

Next I put together the Be Merry Kit – an all inclusive kit meaning it has all the items needed to create 12 rosette ornament (or gift tags, or wreath decor).  All you need is a hot glue gun,  and what crafter doesn’t have one of those?

  1. I love both of these projects, Lynn! The triangle ornaments look great stacked together. What a fun share!
