Again, from Julie DiMatteo, I created these super cool square ornaments with a shadow box. Julie can be found at PaperPixie.com or on You Tube and she is worth following. She is very talented at 3D and Origami. Her video for this project is below.
ORNAMENT
The ornament uses one piece of card stock and a bit of scoring and snipping but is totally worth it. I used pieces from the Quilted Christmas DSP to dress up the sides with the oval framelits around the stamp from Snowflake Sentiments.
SHADOW BOX
The Shadow box is made from 3 pieces of cardstock. Julie’s video calls for adding Window Sheet over the ornament and though I haven’t done that yet I will be adding it before I gift them to friends and family.
I won’t lie, the shadow box gave me fits. Honestly I was more concerned about making the ornament and it turns out the shadow box was much harder. The good thing is that if you are daunted by the shadow box, the ornament is a great gift item even without the box. I hope you’ll try one or both this holiday season.
These are such fun! I love the red, green and blue combination. You and Julie are so talented.
