Sweet Soiree Mother’s Day Card

I think I made this card about 2 months ago, in anticipating of Mother’s Day May 13.  My mom has had a tough year, loosing my day a year ago April and suffering some health concerns that we are all hopeful have been corrected.  I thought this card was something beautiful and different for her this year.

THE KIT:

As of the writing of this post, the product I used to make this Mother’s Day Card was still available – Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit. What  a lot of great items to be found for $11.  So many possibilities for card making or scrapbooks.

* 2 sheets vellum/silver foil die-cuts
* 2 sheets printed cardstock/silver foil die-cuts
* 1 sheet white cardstock/silver foil die-cut numbers
* 6 1″ (2.5 cm) mini paper/silver foil tassels with jump rings, 2 each of 3 colors (Flirty Flamingo, Marina Mist, white)
* white/silver foil 1/8″ (3.2 mm) washi tape, 1 yard
* 12 1″ (2.5 cm) white mini clothespins; Marina Mist
* 3/8″ (1 cm) Scalloped Velvet Ribbon,
* 1 yard

SOME TRICKS

I cased this card from a post I found on Pinterest by Linda B.  There are other examples on Pinterest using this half card front technique.  You should try one yourself.

I used Blushing Bride cardstock, Vellum and Acetate sheets.  The right side of the front is actually vellum underneath a piece of Acetate with some elements from the kit in-between the layers.  The vellum silver foil die cuts I colored with markers and allowed to dry fully.

The ribbon is white ribbon that I colored with my Blushing Bride Marker then cut to size.  You can do this with Stampin Blend Markers as well and any color will work to make your own coordinating ribbon.

The Pearls were inked with Versamark, then Blushing Bride Ink, then Clear embossing Powder and heat embossed.  I love how they turned out.
