Exploring the Rooted in Nature Bundle – Part 1

Happy June everyone.  I’m very excited that the new Stampin Up catalog is now open for everyone.  Lately I’ve been sharing several projects completed using the same stamp set from the new catalog.  Today is no different as I share one of my favorites, Rooted in Nature. I used the stamp set, the framelits as well as the DSP and  I made so many different styles of cards with this set that I broke it across two different posts.  Stop back tomorrow for the remainder.

MY FIRST GLANCE

In April I attended a Stampin Up Event – On Stage Local in Atlanta and one of our Make and Takes was this awesome card above.  We were able to use new stamps, inks, paper, dies and accessories.  See the little copper and silver leaves. It really showed off how to use the largest stamp, the round wood, as a background accent.

NEXT – WATERCOLOR

There are several tree images in the set, but this single solitary tree is my favorite.  Using Watercolor paper I stamped with Mint Macaron and then again with Tranquil Tide after stamping off once. I used my aqua painter and pulled color away from the tree for softness.  Then added some Cajun Craze, Mint Macaron and some very light Grapefruit Grove.  The sentiment, also from Rooted in Nature, I heat embossed on Cajun Craze and then separated the words.

NEXT – REPEATED STAMPING

I liked the thought of using  two other of the tree stamps in a repeated fashion to make a pretty background scene.  This card uses Blackberry Bliss and Soft Suede with the sentiment from Beautiful Day stamped on DSP. I used the framelits to crop out those same trees I stamped with to add dimension.
