A Tropical Christmas

It is August and about time I made some Christmas cards for the upcoming season.  You’d think I had this all planned but, nope, not really.  The only thing I had planned was to use the Tropical thinlits in a card today.  I’ve had them on my desk to use for a while now and not yet found the inspiration.  So I figured the best thing to do would be to cut out some of the cool leaves to see what they looked like.  I had a scrap piece of green Share What You Love DSP on my desk and figured it would work.  Here is the result.

THE SKETCH INSPIRATION

TIPS

I had the CAS this Sketch in mind when I started and figured I would use a piece of the Under the Mistelte DSP, the one with the leaping reindeer on a field of green.  But when I put it together, I had flipped over the reindeer to the backside to add adhesive and thought, you know, that red plaid would look even better.  The gold glimmer paper added some nice sparkle but not overpowering.

I used the square framelits to crop exactly the size I wanted with layers behind.  Then I had to find a sentiment.  Perfect Pines to the rescue.  That sentiment fit perfectly, almost like I planned it.
