WeIcome to my challenge card post. I haven’t done one in a while so really went wild and have combined two challenges this week into one card.
THE CHALLENGES
Global Design Project had a Case This Designer challenge. Louise Sharp was the designer and I was lucky enough to meet and hang out with her a bit in Orlando at the Stampin’ Up! 30 birthday convention this past week. Louise is just awesome. A great designer and a funny person. So glad she made the trip to Florida all the way from Australia.
The other challenge I used for my card is the Fab Friday color challenge using Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, Mint Macaron and Tranquil Tide. I’ve managed to get all of those colors easily into my card.
THE CARD
The piece of DSP I used reminded me of the buffalo check used in Louise’s card. I happened to find it in my stash of DSP cut to just that size from a previous project. Goes to show you should never throw those left overs away. I utilized her layout as well, with the prominent image in the bottom left.
For the sentiment I stamped first in Blackberry Bliss, and Cajun Craze using markers. Then overstamped with the Mint Macaron.
Originally I was going to have a white on white cardbase but the added piece of Blackberry Bliss really made it pop.
