Welcome to InKing Royalty’s January Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around LOVE. You’re certain to see some amazing ideas for Valentine’s Day in the hop, but there are other ways to honor love in the lineup, too. What fun! We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
I’m not a huge Valentine card maker. I probably should make more than I do, so I was happy to hear today’s theme was Love. I initially thought I would be using the stitched hearts die set but as I was going through my supplies I came across the Forever Lovely stamp set and coordinating die in my stash and used those instead. I kind of cased a sample card pictured in the Occasions catalog on page 4 but I think except for the die cut and the color underneath I’ve totally made this my own.
If you are interested in recreating this card, here are the dimensions I used. I’m also happy to send a full step by step instruction guide on how I created it. Some of the steps were a bit tricky. Just drop me an email and I’ll get it right out to you.
Dimensions
- Blushing bride standard card base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2
- Petal Promenade DSP cut with Rectangle Stitched die 5-1/8 x 4
- 2 pieces whisper white finished size 3 x 4-3/8
- Scrap piece of blushing bride for sentiment
The DSP I used in the background comes from Petal Promenade. I really thought I had purchased the All My Love DSP from the Forever Lovely suite of products. If I did, I can’t find it. So I’m looking through all my other DSP papers for something that would coordinate with the Lovely Lipstick color of my flowers. Most of the Petal Promenade papers had too much orange or salmon color in them and I thought I was out of luck until I pulled at the last sheet in the pack, this gorgeous dark floral print. It was just what i needed.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Candy Ford at Stamp Candy. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!
