Hello all. I have had a very busy couple of weeks. My husband and I were on vacation in Las Vegas. The following week I was babysitting for my 16-month-old granddaughter. She can be quite the handful. How did I do it with two little ones back when my girls were young. Whew. Needless to say, I wasn’t able to craft much last week and therefore not able to get anything posted here on my blog. I’ve been crafting up a storm since though and have some projects to share with you today using the Christmastime Is Here Suite by Stampin Up.
Stampin Up has created a new suite of products called Christmas Time is Here. The products are available for customers to purchase on November 1 and will only be available for a month. There are two stamp sets in the suite, a set of dies, beautiful DSP, gold enamel dots and shiny gold ribbon. I played with this set all day on Wednesday. I had so much fun. I’m going to share two of my cards today.
There are several dies included in the suite and one will crop a portion of the Designer Series paper. I used that as the basis for all of my cards. There are several ways to use the die: to cut the DSP, to color with ink and stamps, to color with Blends, and to watercolor. I’m going to show you the DSP and watercolor.
Using the DSP
The designer series paper is thin and since I was popping it up on the card it needed more support. I cropped the die again with Soft Sea Foam. I layered it under the DSP at an angle. The sentiment is from the Hostess Set Greatest Part of Christmas, a set of stamps full of wonderful sentiments for the inside or the outside of your holiday cards. The set is well worth spending $150 on an order to earn it for free.
Using Watercolor
With my second card, I stamped the line image on shimmery white paper using versamark and then Gold embossing powder. The embossing helps keep the watercolor from running where you don’t want it to be. I used an aqua painter and cherry cobbler, real red blushing bride, mossy meadow and early espresso ink to color the image and then I cropped it with the die and popped it up with dimensionals. I layered gold foil under the piece of designer series paper that also has foil accents but first I cut out the Merry Christmas from the Merry Christmas Die set out of the gold foil. A few gold enamel dots and gold ribbon.
I really hope you will consider purchasing all or portions of this suite on November 1. It was so fun to play with and so easy to create that the four cards I made came out effortlessly. I have two more cards ready for you to share on Monday. Until Then…
Happy Stamping
