If you have been following my posts this week you’ll remember I’ve been sharing cards I’m making to go into a set for a friend to give this year. I wanted the cards to be winter but not Christmas so I’ve been using the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper from Stampin Up and pairing it with alternative sentiments and elements. Card #3
Today’s card is in strict holiday colors of Real Red and Garden Green but with a Thinking of You sentiment from Good Morning Magnolia. However, the real star is the Cardinal from the Toile Christmas stamp set. I inked the cardinal in Real Red ink then used my Black Stampin Write Marker and colored over the red around his mouth and eye. The rest of the cardinal is perfect with all the detail included in the stamp. I cut it out using the Christmas Cardinal die set.
I used soft suede and cut out the large branch from Beautiful Boughs die set to layer over the Toile Tidings DSP and under the cardinal. To make the sentiment as easy to mass produce as possible I cut out all of the pieces of Real Red using the Stitched Nested die. Then I used my Stamparatus to line it up and stamp them out. I had originally thought to heat emboss the sentiment with white but when I saw the tone on tone look I decided to leave it as is.
