A Sweet Flower with Tulip Builder Punch

I just love the card I made for today’s post using my Tulip Builder Punch.  I have totally been in a ‘ready for spring’ mood and it is definitely coming out in the colors I’ve been using lately.  Today’s Tulip Builder card is no different.  I also use a new free Sale-a-Bration item called So Very Vellum you can earn free with a $50 purchase.
The So Very Vellum pack comes with 6 sheets of textured vellum, two each of three colors:  Purple Posy, Soft Sea Foam and, Pool Party.  I started by using the Tulip Builder punch for the tulip and petals from the Purple Posy.
I first punched out a tulip and two leaves in whisper white.  I wanted to layer that behind the vellum.  Then I punched out the tulip and petals.  I made sure to punch one of the petals with the textured side facing up, and the other with the textured side facing down. That way they would both be textured on each side of the tulip base.
Vellum with texture facing up
Vellum with texture facing down.  I repeated that same process with the pool party vellum for the leaves.
I envisioned a stitched circle behind the tulip but it looked pretty plain even with the stitching.  To jazz it up I used the Big Shot Embossing Plates and the Stitched Lace Die to create texture on the circle.  Full disclosure, I embossed before I cut the circle and I’m glad I did as it made a smooth edge around the outside of the circle.
Fun tip, you can use any die to emboss instead of cut by using the embossing plates.  Double duty out of your dies, who doesn’t love that.
The sentiment is stamped from the Timeless Tulip stamp set, as are the background tulips on the pool party panel.  I used the Label Me Fancy punch centering the sentiment towards the top.
The last little detail is the pearls colored with my Dark Purple Posy Stampin’ Blend.  You can make pearls of any color to go with your card if you have alcohol markers or even Permanent Markers.
