On March 26 I’m going to be hosting a fun event called Kit Together. Each month I’m selecting a different stamp set or suite of products and making projects using them. In March it is all about the Tropical Oasis suite, the Timeless Tropical Stamp set, In the Tropics dies and the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper. Here is one of the projects my attendees will be making.
When I think of Tropical whether it be East or West coast I always think of Sun Rise or Sun Set images. For this card I made my own sunrise with paper and ink. I cropped a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock with my 2″ circle punch. I then used Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend around the outer edge, Light Calypso Coral inside of that and finished it off with Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend over everything, including the center.
I stamped the DistINKtive Detail palm tree stamp using Soft Suede on Whisper White cardstock. I used the Light Soft Suede Stampin Blend to color the trunk and a Light Old Olive Stampin Blennd to highlight the palm fronds the used the coordinating die to cut it out.
I’m in love with this new way of using the ribbon. I first saw it on a card by Stesha Bloodhart at Stampin Hoot and like the way it added ribbon texture without it having to be a bow. When using the 3D Coastal Weave embossing folder be sure to add water to your cardstock before embossing to bring out those embossed details. I didn’t have a spritzer with only water in it handy so I used my Aqua Painter and painted water over the entire surface. Worked perfectly.
The sentiment from the Timeless Tropical Stamp set fit nicely inside the Story Label Punch. I inked first with versamark and heated with clear embossing powder before punching.
Thank you for visiting today. I always appreciate your comments and answer all questions as soon as possible. Until next time…
Happy Stamping

Paper Pumpkin – April – My Wonderful Family
Paper Pumpkin believes in making a difference—especially when it comes to helping their subscribers build relationships through papercrafting. For April, they created a fun, family appreciation themed card kit that would make it easy for you to share your hearts with those you love most: mom, dad, daughter, son, sister, and brother. April’s kit even includes Mother’s Day and Father’s Day sentiments, giving you the perfect way to show your appreciation for beloved parents on their special days with a beautiful, handmade card.
One more thing to tell you about this “fam-tastic” kit: The Paper Pumpkin team knows that everyone’s clan is unique. With that in mind, they provided sentiments that would include anyone in your life who feels like family; for instance, “brothers” and “sisters” who have helped you along the journey of life.
