Welcome to InKing Royalty’s July Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. This month’s projects celebrate the 4th of July – the projects are inspirational, patriotic and filled with reds, whites and blues. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
I have to admit that the first type of card I think of making is NOT a Fourth of July card so when the blog hop schedule came out I had to really put my brain to work.
All last week I was making masculine cards for father’s day and birthdays. I really really wanted to get back into some florals but how to incorporate that into Fourth of July? Digging around in my Designer Series Paper I came across this piece from Ornate Garden. It is all gold foil on whisper white just waiting to be colored.
I cut a piece at 4 x 5=1/4 and started coloring with Real Red, Misty Moonlight, Poppy Parade, and Pool Party Stampin blends, then threw in some Just Jade as well. I decided to cut it down to just 4×4 and added a thin layer of pool party cut at 4-1/8 x 4-1/8. The card base is Poppy Parade cut to 4-1/4 x 4-1/4.
Ok, so now the background is finished, what to do for the sentiment and detail. Itty Bitty Birthday and Itty Bitty Greetings are my go-to stamp sets since they have so many ‘Itty Bitty’ phrases to choose from. I picked Cheers to You, meaning America, and die cut it with the next smallest Stitched Nested Die. The Medium Daisy Punch made a nice Red White and Blue (and Pool Party) flower all on top of a gold foil scallop tag topper punched on both ends. Some Forever Fern gold trim tucked behind along with Gilded Gems finished it off nicely.
Thank you for visiting today. I always appreciate your comments and answer all questions as soon as possible. Until next time…
Happy Stamping
Lynn

Such a great combination of colors, Lynn! I love that you used this floral paper – fun coloring! So glad you hopped with us today! ♥
Gotta have my flowers, Brian!!
Your card really celebrates! I also liked how you labeled your various blends. I spend so much time looking for a specific color blend. Thank you for the tip.
Jean, I can’t take credit for the idea of labeling my blends. I got that from Ann Murray last week and spend a good several hours labeling all of mine. It is really great and so much eaiser to see what is what.
Lynn the colored paper is beautiful! This card is so perfect for summer!
Thanks Jennifer. I love my Stampin’ Blends
So pretty Lynn. Your coloring makes the gold trim pop on each of the flowers. I also like all of the gold that you used – label, gold trim and gilded gems. It is a lovely card – thanks for sharing.
Thanks Linda. I certainly didn’t start out thinking I was going to have so much Gold but it just seemed to be the thing to do once I started. : )
Such an elegant card, Lynn! I love the classy addition of the gold!!
