Peace and Joy Dies for Christmas in July

You have to take a look at page 18 in the Aug-Dec Mini catalog by Stampin’ UP! at the Peace and Joy stamp set with Joy Dies.  They aren’t complicated dies by any means but the layering options are so cool.

Peace and JoyI had this idea for this card and started making various layers for the sentiment.  There are three dies in all, plus a stamp set for each of the words Joy, Peace and Bright.

One of the returning favorites from 2019 mini catalog was Peaceful Boughs.  The dies are awesome and make beautiful background pieces but I wanted to jazz them up a little.

I spritzed water on 100 Fluid watercolor paper and pressed the paper into the ink.  After it dryer fully I die-cut the branches.  I also pressed some more paper into the ink to get some pieces to use on future projects.

I took a break from making my card and contemplated what was missing and decided it was gold.  The specialty gold laser cut paper has cut pieces ideal for placing behind my sentiment.  I also looked through the stack of Plaid Tidings DSP and found a piece with all the colors I had used so far.

  1. Lynn, I love your colorful card. The colors are outside my comfort zone meaning I would never have thought of them for a Christmas card but very inspiring. Your card is stunning. Enjoy your day.
