Posted for You meets Birds & Branches

I have a mash-up of two stamp sets for you today.  Posted For You that bundles with the Postage Stamp Punch along with Birds & Branches that bundles with the Birds & More die.  Bundles are a great way to save $ with a 10% discount.

I often purchase a lot of new products at the beginning of a new catalog.  I have to keep track of those I have used and those I haven’t so they can all get some initial loving use.  Today’s card was my first time using the Posted for You Bundle.  I have a love-love relationship with the peek-through window style lately and when I was looking at the Postage Stamp Punch I thought it would make great windows for a card.

I had a piece of whisper white that I had run through the largest stitched rectangle die laying on my desk.  I punched out three windows and went to town.

I lined up one of the stamps from Posted for You that has birds and leaves on it and stamped it through the window onto a piece of Petal Pink cardstock just slightly larger than my stitched whisper white.  I colored the birds and leaves with Stampin blends (old olive, so saffron, calypso coral).

Then disaster struck, I had laid the whisper white window piece down with the wrong side stitching up.  That meant when I flipped it over to the correct side the birds I had so carefully lined up and colored were in the wrong place.  What to do? I flipped the cardstock over and saw that the color had bled through to the backside of the cardstock and that I could rearrange my design with that side showing through.  To give the image some clarity I used my Crumb Cake Stampin Write marker and outlined the image.

A few weeks ago I had made a card using Birds and Branches and had made up kits for a class I was hosting. You can see that card post HERE. I had extras leftover and used those pieces here instead of creating new ones.  I tucked in the branches then trimmed off the excess.

It still needed a bit more so I looked through all my embellishments, I store them in one of our Christmas Countdown Boxes originally designed for Advent but boy does it work perfectly for embellishments and look nice in my craft area at the same time.  I adhere a few of the embellishments on the front of the box so I know what is where.  GOOD NEWS, this kit is coming back and will be available for you to purchase on Aug 4th when the new Aug – Dec Mini Catalog goes live.
