Ridiculously Awesome Sunflower

Let’s combine Ridiculously Awesome Stamp set with the Celebrate Sunflowers and you get Ridiculously Awesome Sunflower.  I love both of these stamp sets and was totally inspired and wanted to recreate a sample from the Stampin’ UP! Annual Catalog.

Ridiculously Awesome

This is my version.  I changed up just a few things from the sample (you can see that below) because I was creating this card not only for my AverysOwlery.com blog but also for my in-home classes.  Depending on the elements used and the patterned paper I have to switch things around in order to have enough supplies for all my guests.

Ridiculously Awesome

Don’t you just love the You Are My Sunshine sentiment from Ridiculously Awesome Stamp set.  And it looks so nice with the Sunflowers but especially using the chalkboard technique.  Stamp on Basic Black cardstock with white craft ink and set aside to let dry.

Instead of snipping out the sunflower from the Designer Series Paper I stamped the smaller sunflower on whisper white after coloring the red rubber stamp with Stampin’ Write Markers.  This technique is so easy to add multiple colors on one stamp.  Just use the brush end of the marker on its side to color the stamp.  Don’t forget to breathe on it before stamping to re-wet the ink.

The sample from the catalog – page 90 – used Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper behind the sentiment.  I used a different piece of that pack because I had more of it on hand.  I also felt like it was missing an overall pop of color so I added a piece of Poppy Parade behind it all.

This is my first time using Ridiculously Awesome stamp set but here are several previous posts using the Celebrate Sunflower for you to check out.
