Daisy Punch and Ornate Garden

I really like it when the products I purchase in one suite or bundle work really well with another suite or product and today’s Daisy Punch card is a great example of this. I’ve paired two Daisy punches with Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper, Hippo Happiness Dies and the Natures Thoughts dies.

Daisy Punch

I found 6 pieces of this Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper in my paper stash. I had obviously cut them for some project or another and then changed my mind. Not this time. I was determined to create a card using that paper. The flowers looked like daisy’s to me so why not incorporate the Daisy Punch.

Picking Colors is Easy with DSP

The colors were easy to choose from pulling directly from the paper. I used So Saffron as the card base, the top two smaller layers of the daisy as well as the sentiment. I used Bumblebee cardstock with the large daisy punch and Bumblebee ink for the sentiment. I really felt like the daisy needed something to anchor it to the card and the Hippo Happiness layer dies were perfectly sized for that. I’ll be honest, I will likely never use the dies to crop a hippo but I love love love all the layering dies included with them. The sentiment was cropped with one of the other layer dies.

Finally, I looked through all my die sets to find just the right leaf to surround my daisy. Daisy leaves in real life aren’t like a lot of the leaves I had dies for, at least not until I came across the Natures’ Thought’s Dies and that lovely jagged leaf included in it. It was perfect.

I hope you like my card today. I had fun making it and so did my friends attending my class. It makes a nice heading into fall birthday card for sure.

Thank you for visiting today.  I always appreciate your comments and answer all questions as soon as possible.  Until next time…
