Holiday Mash-Up

Before I share today’s Holiday Mash-Up project I want to announce the winner of the Blog Candy. To see what you might have missed out on you can see my original post Here. The winner is Kathy Beemer and here is her comment…

I’m currently loving the Magnolia bundle. It’s perfect for any occasion and elegant. Not sure about the new machine yet

I have a Holiday Mash-Up card for you today. So many different elements all working together for this card. I liked it when I made it but I’m not sure about it today. Let’s get started.

Holiday Mash-Up

Going from the top layers to the bottom we have the sentiment from the Joy dies, part of the Peace & Joy bundle, die cut out of Balmy Blue and Whisper white. I figured I didn’t really need a whole lot more action other than a simple sentiment.

The candles and leaves are both from the Sweetest Time bundle. There are three little Balmy Blue Glitter Paper berries in the center. Those were punched out with a 1/4″ hole punch.

To make the backdrop for the candles I first used three of the snowflake dies from Snowflake Wishes with the retired Die Embossing Plates. They worked perfectly in my new Cut & Emboss machine – now available for purchase. Then I used the Stitched Nested die to cut it out. It flattened the embossing, which was good because it was a bit too bumpy before.

The patterned paper is from Snowflake Splendor DSP. I layered it on a Balmy Blue cardbase that I had stashed away from another project. The stitched design was already there with the front of the card cut shorter to show it. (5-1/2 x 8 scored at 4-1/4). It looked like wind sweeping across snow to me so I felt like it worked.
