Butterflies Sympathy

There is a lot going on in the Stampin’ UP! realm regarding butterflies. SU is introducing a new butterfly stamp and die set that is really amazing. This post is not about it….sorry. This post is about a currently available stamp and die set called Floating and Fluttering. Here, let me show you.

Butterflies

Unfortunately this time of year it seems we need more sympathy cards than any other time. Butterflies, certainly can be used to represent spring, and rebirth but I also think they work well for our loved ones passing on to a rebirth in what ever your spirituality believes in.

Butterflies Technique

This sympathy card is created using several techniques. First off, emboss a piece of Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper. DSP is not just for sticking behind something else, it can be cut, stamped on, shaped, and in this case, dry embossed with the Tasteful Textures embossing folder.

Butterflies

Stamp the butterfly ‘swarm’ on vellum with Blackberry Bliss ink then quickly powder with clear embossing powder and heat set. Color the butterflies with Dark Mango Melody and Dark Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends on the back side of the vellum. Crop with the coordinating die and snip apart.

Finish it off with the sentiment from Here’s a Card stamp set in Blackberry Bliss Ink and some Blackberry Bliss ribbon.
