Artistic Sympathy

Ok, I’m just going to say it – I can’t get enough of the new In-colors by Stampin’ UP!. It seems every project I start I reach for one of those fabulous colors. Pale Papaya, Fresh Freesia Polished Pink for any flower and oh those Greens with Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent. My heart goes pitter-patter. My project today is no different and I’m combining three of the colors with the Artistic Dies for a quick sympathy card.

I love the die cut from Artistic Dies and what better way to show it off than to simply color behind it. This card could be for any occasion besides sympathy. I used the Many Messages stamp and the coordinating Messages dies for the sentiment and any number of those sentiments would have looked beautiful here.

Step by Step for an Artistic Sympathy Card

  1. Cut soft succulent card stock to 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2
  2. Die-cut image from Artistic Dies from Basic White cardstock. Tip – run through the die cutting machine twice to help with all the bits.
  3. Lay the die-cut onto a 4 – 5-1/4 piece of basic white card stock without adhering to determine where to apply ink using blending brushes. Tip1 – apply Polished Pink first, then the Pale Papaya checking placement with the die-cut. Finish with the Soft succulent in opposite corners. Tip2 – label your blending brushes and use them for the same color family. Simply clean between colors using a microfiber cloth.
  4. Use liquid glue to adhere die-cut over ink. Tip – Plan ahead and use Adhesive-backed sheets on basic white before die-cutting. Simply peel off the backing and adhere to the card.
  5. Adhere basic white to the card base using dimensional.
  6. Stamp Many Messages on half sheet of basic white card stock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Tip – use the Stamparatus to get the best coverage on this large stamp.
  7. Die-cut with Messages dies. Tip – line up the die with the small star and heart shapes. Adhere sentiment with dimensional.
  8. Finish it off with Adhesive Backed Sequins from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack
