In love with In-Color Shimmer Vellum

There are a lot of cards I make a lot right out of my own head but there are so many beautifully designed cards on the Interweb that it is impossible not to fall in love with them and want to make my own version. That’s how I felt about Wendy Klein’s card using the In-Color Shimmer Vellum when I saw it on a Facebook page we both belong to. You can see her original card here.

I didn’t change a whole lot from Wendy’s Shimmer Vellum Card but I did do something a bit different with the leaves. Read on for full instructions.

Step by Step In-Color Shimmer Vellum Card

Thick Basic White card base – 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4. Stamp Hello from Biggest Wish in Fresh Freesia in the bottom right corner
Cut two pieces of Fresh Freesia card stock at 5-1/2 x 1-2 and use scallop die cut from Peony’s Dies.
Basic White panel 5-1/2 x 2-1/2, embossed with Ornate Flowers 3D embossing folder. Add tape runner to the back of the embossed panel and adhere scallop pieces to the backside as shown. Wrap ribbon around the front of the panel. Tie a separate bow and adhere with glue dots as shown. Adhere the entire panel to the card front with a tape runner.
Punch two of the medium daisy punch from each of the Shimmer Vellum – Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, and Fresh Freesia using glue dots to adhere together. Add a Loose Flower embellishment in the center with a glue dot.
Use the large Daisy punch one time from the Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent shimmer vellum. Cut each of the petals apart and adhere one evening evergreen and one soft succulent together with a glue dot. Add to the back of each flower.
Place flowers on the card front. Sit back and enjoy.
