Every so often I get the urge to create a fun fold card. This is an easy one that you really should try. It doesn’t use too much Designer Series Paper so it’s great for scraps you might have around. I’ve paired it today with retiring Flowering Fields DSP, Retired Positive Thoughts Stamp set and Natures Thoughts dies.

Fun Fold dimensions
Using Rich Razzleberry, cut your standard card base, 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, and score at 4-1/4. Cut off the bottom portion of the front flap at 1-1/2″ Set this aside to use later. Cut the flap again at 1-1/4, this one you can toss in your scrap pile for another project. You should be left with a card base with only a 1-1/2 flap at the top. Cut two strips of Flowering Fields DSP at 1-3/8 x 5-3/9 for the card front panels.

Use the dotted rectangle from Nature’s Thoughts dies to create the front panel using Soft Succulent. Stamp the branch image from Positive Thoughts onto the panel with Soft Succulent Ink about three times without re-inking.

Stamp the Branch image again on Thick Basic White cardstock with Versamark and heat with white embossing powder. Use an aqua painter and Rich Razzelberry ink to color around the embossed image then once dry crop with the coordinating die and adhere to the panel with dimensional. This gives the background a softer look than using straight-up cardstock. Stamp the sentiment and create some pretty butterflies with Highland Heather ink and cardstock and Rich Razzleberry Cardstock.
Fun Fold Assembly
Adhere the Soft Succulent Panel with liquid glue. to the top of the fun fold card base then line up the bottom panel even with the back of the card base. Add liquid glue to the bottom of the Soft Succulent panel and adhere to the bottom section. Use a 4-1/8 x 5-1/2 piece of basic white for the inside.
