Over the years I’ve been with Stampin’ UP! there have been many many snowflake stamps and dies, but I have to say, the snowflake in the Christmas Lights bundle is the most beautiful ever. The detail of the stamp alone is amazing but when paired with the two dies, one for inside die cutting and one for the outside, it is perfection.
My card today uses both the Christmas Lights bundle and the Brightest Glow bundle in one of my favorite color combinations of Pool Party and Basic Black. To me, they are simply striking and the black glimmer paper (retired) I’ve used here makes it even more so.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

To make my snowflake I first stamped the image with versa mark ink on white cardstock then powdered and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. Stampin’ UP! sells a metallic embossing powder collection with Silver, Gold, and Copper. Next, I die cut with the outline die to get the stand-alone piece. The final step was to die cut with the detail die. Use the stamped image lined up in the holes of the die to perfectly line it up. I suppose this could be done in a different order as well. I also added a little Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend to the snowflake but that’s a bit hard to see in the pictures.
BRIGHTEST GLOW BUNDLE
BUNDLED SAVINGS $52.00
The large dotted circle from the Brightest Glow bundle was used to die cut the black glimmer paper sized 3-3/8 x 4-5/8, slightly over to one side to be a nice background for the sentiment stamped in black on pool party then die cut with the label die included in the set.
Finishing Touches
Irridescent trim was woven through the Brightest Glow label and around the card front to tie in a bow. I added even more sparkle with iridescent Adhesive-Backed Stars. I really like how this card turned out especially since I wasn’t sure what I was creating when I started!
