Christmas to Remember

Today I have a card created with a throwback to the annual catalog, Christmas to Remember and Christmas Season. This time of year while we still want to make more Holiday cards for those last min needs, it’s fun to remember the older stamp and die sets we’ve used in the past.

Yesterday’s project was all about the DSP while today’s project is all about stamping. Our craft is so versatile!! I started with the idea of a centralized sentiment with a soft blended background on white cardstock and went from there. Luckily, the Christmas to Remember has plenty of sentiments to choose from.

The sizes of my layers are standard with 1/8″ smaller for each, the white main layer is 4 x 5-1/4. Using a blending brush I added Pool Party ink to the center in a circular motion for a pale background. I stamped the Holly Jolly and Tis the Season sentiments on white and used the corresponding dies from Seasonal Labels to cut them out. Stamping the pine branches came next using Old Olive ink.

To create the pinecones I first used a blending brush and Crumb Cake ink on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and then cut out the detailed portions of the three pinecones from the Christmas Pinecone die set. I cut out the back layer of the pinecones from an un-inked piece of crumb cake cardstock. This gives a nice contrast between the layers. The project is finished off with some Rustic Metallic Dots.
